Structure

Each event consists of facilitated exercises, some with a verbal component and some without. They are primarily about knowing yourself more fully via authentic expressive communication with others. It is perfectly fine to come along to this event with no interest in making specific connections, and to treat it as straightforward personal development or just a fun social time. There is no 'dating' component in these workshops, they are general social events.

The specific activities will be from a wide-ranging repertoire: activating your own energy, sensing into the energy between you and another without any words, speaking honestly & openly about your perceptions of (& responses to) yourself/another, communicating from a feeling place rather than via the rational mind, knowing & voicing boundaries, general conscious connection practices, and learning to understand the other gender better.

Most exercises will be in M/F pairs and we will closely balance the numbers of M/F attending. However, we want everyone to get a chance to meet a range of other participants. So some exercises will be in same gender small groups or pairs, and a few will be in mixed groups.

The Different Events

The 'Connections' playshop is our standard workshop, a fun event of interactive connection games, with any new awarenesses coming through just relating in the activities. The focus is on sharing space with others in simple improvisation exercises and authenticity practices.

The 'Reflections' events are also designed as social events around 'learning through fun'. However, they are also more specifically 'Authentic Relating' workshops. As well as fun connection practices and warm-ups, they also contain more personal-development focussed exercises. (Such as verbal practice in speaking your truth, witnessing others, and sharing creative experiences.) For those not already on the path of self-discovery we recommend going to a Connections playshop before attending a Reflections event.
